The Staff Accountant will support Finance department managers in various aspects of accounting and financial reporting as outlined below.
This role offers a hybrid arrangement, with an agreed-upon portion of work time spent at our office in Archbold, Ohio.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with imports accounting, which may include:
- Reconciling bank statements with wire payments and posting bank statements.
- Analyzing selected General Ledger Accounts for samples, air freight, product testing, and outside QC Services by factories.
- Running shipping reports to keep track of containers.
- Auditing Sauder Asia’s monthly report.
- Tracking and recording of Direct Import (DI) shipments and sales.
Assist with fixed asset, tax, risk management, and payroll accounting, which may include:
- Recording fixed asset acquisitions and disposals and monitoring depreciation.
- States sales and local tax reporting and filings.
- Income tax return information requests.
- Preparation of payroll journal entries, payroll related accruals and other administrative tasks.
- Insurance renewal information requests.
Assist with treasury and accounts receivable functions, which may include:
- Assisting with Canadian tax transactions.
- Assisting with lockbox activities.
- Preparing monthly credit metrics.
- Assistance with weekly cash forecasts.
- Other treasury-related functions as needed.
Assist with other general ledger and financial reporting functions, which may include:
- General ledger entries and account analysis as needed.
- Analysis of financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Month-end closing, consolidation, and reporting.
- Supporting in various external financial audit requests prepared by client.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in the field.
- CPA certification in progress is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel is essential.
- Experience with SAP and Crystal Reporting is a plus.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
Expected offer range: $45,000 - $60,000. The actual salary will be based on factors such as location, relevant experience, and skills. The Max salary listed is not the top of the salary band.
