William Vaughan Company is helping in the search for a Bookkeeper for a General Contractor based in Holland, OH
. They are seeking a skilled individual to join their team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards. You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the company. - Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledger, supplier's ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
- Reconcile entries to ensure all accounts are balanced.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Help support in contracts, job set ups and estimates.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system for financial documents.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands‑on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting software such as Quick Books, Xero, or Sage.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
