Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cost Accountant role located in Chagrin Falls, OH. The Cost Accountant will analyze manufacturing costs and variances, maintain cost standards, and prepare cost reports to support pricing, budgeting, and profitability decisions. Responsibilities include recording and reviewing journal entries, reconciling cost accounts, assisting with month-end close, and supporting the preparation of internal financial summaries related to production activities.

The role will partner closely with operations and production teams to track material, labor, and overhead costs, monitor inventory valuation, and identify efficiency opportunities. The Cost Accountant will also support audits, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and contribute to continuous improvement of cost accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong cost accounting skills, including experience with standard costing, variance analysis, standard book keeping, and inventory valuation.
• Candidates should possess skills in preparing and reviewing financial statements and internal management reports.
• Candidates should possess solid analytical skills to interpret cost data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Candidates should possess experience with recording and reviewing journal entries and a sound understanding of general accounting principles.
• Candidates should possess foundational finance knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field are preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments and familiarity with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or similar) are beneficial.
• Attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams are important.
• Professional certifications such as CMA or CPA are a plus but not required.
