Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Columbia Station

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy manufacturing operation in Columbia Station, Ohio. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage a high volume of financial transactions with accuracy and consistency. The person in this role will help keep payables processes organized, support vendor administration, and contribute to smooth day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

- Handle a large weekly volume of invoices, ensuring timely and accurate entry, coding, and processing.

- Review purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to complete three-way matching and resolve discrepancies before payment.

- Verify receiving documentation and confirm invoice details align with approved records and company procedures.

- Prepare and process weekly cash and check disbursements while maintaining proper supporting documentation.

- Administer petty cash activity and apply eligible payment discounts in accordance with established guidelines.

- Set up new vendors, collect and maintain W-9 documentation, and keep vendor master data current and accurate.

- Maintain positive communication with vendors and internal partners to address account questions and payment matters promptly.

- Provide clerical and data entry assistance for accounting operations and offer backup support to accounts receivable when needed.

- Assist with adherence to environmental compliance procedures as they relate to departmental documentation and processes. Requirements - Prior experience in accounts payable, accounting support, or administrative accounting work.

- Ability to process invoices in a high-volume setting with strong accuracy and attention to detail.

- Working knowledge of purchase order workflows, invoice coding, and three-way matching.

- Experience supporting vendor onboarding, maintaining vendor records, and handling related documentation.

- Familiarity with check runs, petty cash management, and general payment processing activities.

- Proficiency with ERP or accounting systems, with Plex or Plex Manufacturing ERP experience strongly preferred.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in an onsite Monday-through-Friday environment.
