Mancan is working with a medical practice in Millersburg seeking an admitting clerk. This is a temp to hire opportunity. Hours are 6am-6pm, 3 days per week. Must be available for rotating weekends and holidays. Pay is based on experience, $16-$17/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Register and admit patients according to hospital policies and procedures
- Obtain and verify patient information and insurance, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits as required
- Collect copayments, deductibles, deposits, and other payments
- Obtain required signatures, authorizations, and other admission documentation
- Enter and update patient information accurately in the electronic medical record and registration systems
- Communicate with nursing units, physicians' offices, emergency department staff, lab, radiology, billing, and other departments as needed
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
- Process discharges, transfers, and other patient account updates as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of healthcare admissions and one year of customer service experience preferred
- Understanding of medical terminology preferred
- Must have strong computer skills
