Controls Express Technician role at GROB Systems, Inc
. Bluffton, OH, US. This position is responsible for supporting installations and service calls exclusively at GROB’s customer sites. The candidate must be available to travel on short notice to designated locations. While at customer sites, the individual will be responsible for the start-up and debug of machine tool equipment. This role involves supporting automation systems, troubleshooting PLCs, and ensuring optimal performance of machine tool controls across various customer sites.

This position is primarily travel-based and the home location will be considered the base location.

• Must respond quickly to customer installations or problems on short notice
• PLC programming and troubleshooting
• NC programming and troubleshooting
• Robot programming and integration (ABB & Fanuc)
• Electrical hardware troubleshooting
• Servo drive parameterization and tuning
• Networking of machines to plant network and other machines
• Support commissioning and startup of new equipment
• Collaborate with engineering and service teams to resolve technical issues
• Provide on-site and remote support to customers
• Document service activities and maintain accurate records

• High School Diploma minimum
• PLC or CNC programming experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, or Fanuc 30i CNC knowledge preferred)
• Familiarity with HMI interfaces and industrial protocols
• 2+ years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Experience with CNC machine tools and industrial automation
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance in manufacturing environments
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

• Ability to travel as required for business needs
• Ability to work alone and in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong math skills
• Willing to work overtime as needed
• Willing to travel on short term notice
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport
