Commercial Truck Tire Technician

The Commercial Truck Tire Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing tires on semi-trucks. Tasks include mounting and balancing, conducting fleet checks, and performing emergency roadside assistance.

• Install, repair, and replace commercial tires on various vehicle types using hand tools and power tools efficiently.
• Conduct vehicle inspections to identify issues related to tires, alignment, brakes, and general maintenance needs.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, wheel alignments, and tire rotations to optimize vehicle performance.
• Change flat tires in the shop or respond to on-the-road calls.
• Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others.
• Conducts daily service check of equipment and utilizes the work order process if maintenance is required.
• Keeps management aware of any incidents, accidents, and discrepancies.
• Ensure that Quality, Environmental, and Safety Standards of Metalico, Inc. for production, customers and employees are consistently achieved.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.

• Valid Drivers License and clean driving record is required.
• Mechanical experience of 1-2 years is preferred.
• Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (Non-CDL).
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Ability to work outside in the elements.
• Physical demands: must be able to lift and replace semi-truck tires, weighing at least 80 pounds.
• Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits.
• Punctual and reliable; good attendance required.
• Good communication skills.
• Team-player.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills.
• Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
• Must be willing to follow and participate in Metalico’s Drug Free Safety Policy.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.

• Exposure to elements and / or non-climate-controlled environment where temperature and weather extremes (heat, cold, rain) may be encountered.
• Work may take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust and fumes.
• Noise level in the work environment is moderate; hearing protection is always provided to employees by the company.

Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, minimum 40-hour work week, Saturdays and overtime as scheduled.
