Job Description Summary
As a Critical Minerals Procurement Leader, you will own creating and implementing strategies, supplier relationships, and contracts that will secure GE Aerospace’s supply of critical minerals at the elemental level needed for business continuity. This role will work with the Procurement and Engineering teams responsible for buying Castings, Forgings and other Metals commodities for GE Aerospace products to: (1) organize all critical mineral and element needs, understand supply, and the potential gap based on geo‑political risk;
(2) work with current suppliers and scout, connect with, and develop any needed suppliers; and (3) create and negotiate supplier contracts to ensure supply meets our needs.
In this role, you will be a connector between production sourcing teams and materials engineers and our supply chain. You’ll need to be entrepreneurial in working with new suppliers, scouting new sources and materials for GE Aerospace product. You will need to be a strong procurement professional, able to make deals and establish new relationships with confidence.
As a member of the Critical Minerals Organization, you’ll work with a cross‑functional team of Procurement and Engineering leaders dedicated to establishing a thorough understanding of GE Aerospace’s critical mineral supply chain; assessing associated availability risks and opportunities; and building a comprehensive critical mineral strategy that secures delivery stability for GE Aerospace products. This team will partner closely with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure holistic solutions are developed and pursued for the entire GE Aerospace business, inclusive of both CES and D&S.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Organize regular meetings with key members of your category’s Procurement and Engineering teams. Own these relationships and manage project delivery to develop solutions for any elemental supply gaps.
- Create data‑based tracking and management of elemental supply within your category. Establish the gap with data and track it over time.
- Analyze and create a baseline of geopolitical risk for your category.
- Stay knowledgeable on news related to geopolitical supply challenges and how it affects your most important elements.
- Meet with and manage current suppliers within your category responsible for elemental procurement.
- Scout, identify, and establish relationships with new suppliers that can solve gaps in your elemental supply. Use all necessary tools to carry out this process – including conferences, travel, meetings, and calls.
- Lead the Procurement process in GE Aerospace for new contracts, including Deal Review, contract drafting, and negotiation.
- Be responsible and accountable for any aspects of the procurement process required to onboard new suppliers (NDAs, Know Your Supplier, Deal Review, C64 Negotiation, etc.).
- Manage contracts to ensure supply arrives to performance requirements with the working team including, but not limited to, sourcing colleagues, legal, finance, compliance, engineering, quality, manufacturing operations, product lines, customers, and suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships to be a trusted, credible contact to work with at GE Aerospace.
- Ensure commodity financial CTQs (Critical to Quality) are understood and balanced to reach the desired business outcomes.
- Lead budgeting, strategy, and other operating rhythms as required.
- Lead others to find creative solutions within a complex contractual landscape with an emphasis on supply durability.
- Evaluate quality of information received and question conflicting data for analysis.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing/Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain, or Contract Management roles.
