Project Manager Responsibilities- Plans, directs, and coordinates construction activities for mechanical and electrical industrial projects.
- Manages Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen who supervise construction employees; charged with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team.
- Initiates and maintains liaison with prime clients to facilitate construction activities.
- Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Prepares project reports for management, clients, or others and represents the company in owner progress meetings.
- Manages financial aspects of contracts and is responsible for project profit or loss.
- Leads project team in daily field coordination meetings, weekly block schedule meetings, and monthly safety kickoff meetings.
- Mentors and assists with career development of other team members.
- Provides additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or construction management.
- 10+ years’ experience and knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management.
- Professional Engineer credentialing is not required but is a strong plus.
- Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
- Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Business‑oriented person with the ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
