Responsibilities
- Lead process development to improve battery performance to meet final product performance and reliability requirements.
- Design and run well-designed experiments based on DOE methodologies.
- Perform battery physical characteristic analysis and extract critical insights.
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues around the world – in California, India, Korea and Malaysia.
- Perform FMEA and root cause analysis.
- Effectively communicate the results to various stakeholders.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2+ years industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of battery chemistry and physics is desirable. Experience working with battery testers or related electronics is a plus.
- Experience with using leading-edge battery and/or semiconductor material characterization techniques to drive failure analysis, understand degradation mechanisms, or improve yield.
- Experience with statistical analysis methods to drive experiment design and conclusions.
- Demonstrated capability to effectively analyze process data and extract/summarize meaningful information.
- Familiarity with SPC, DOE, FMEA and 8D methodologies.
