Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager Software Engineering 1 to lead a team of software engineers and provide quality engineering support to programs, IRADs and new business pursuits in the Weapons Integration & Mission Solutions (WIMS) Business Unit.

Location:

Beavercreek, OH or WPAFB, OH. The position supports the engineering organization goals for providing people, processes, and tools to meet current and future needs of the sector portfolio and to establish and maintain a world-class Software and Digital Technologies organization.

The selected candidate will provide functional leadership, collaborate with peers across multiple organizations, and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The role emphasizes ethics, integrity, innovation, and building diverse and inclusive teams with high engagement, mentoring, and coaching. The candidate will participate in activities related to the InSITE program and other NGDS programs and may be authorized for ~15% indirect charging to perform duties associated with this position.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software engineers and ensure quality engineering support to programs, IRADs and new business pursuits in WIMS.
  • Provide functional leadership within a strong engineering organization and collaborate with peers across multiple organizations.
  • Demonstrate leadership, effective communication, problem solving, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote ethics, integrity, and the ability to innovate while challenging traditional methods.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining a world-class Software and Digital Technologies organization.
  • Participate in engineering activities related to the InSITE program and other NGDS programs.
  • Contribute as an effective team member with excellent engineering skills.
  • Compliance with indirect charging requirements (~15%).
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or other STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering development projects, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Experience in managing the implementation and delivery of sophisticated engineering solutions for Government customers.
  • Previous experience in people and/or technical leadership roles.
  • Must have 85% coverage on an existing direct program OR qualify for an open NG requisition at Beavercreek or WPAFB for a technical engineering role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Experience leading a team in a matrix-like organization and engineering teams using Agile, CI/CD processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of AFRL/RI contracting processes and procedures.
  • Experience working with NASIC, NSIC, AFRL, ACC or DIA.
  • Experience working with multiple subcontractors concurrently.
  • Business development and/or proposal experience.

Salary:
Primary Level Salary Range: $ - $. The figure represents a guideline; final offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives may apply depending on position.
