Acteon is currently looking for a highly skilled R&D Geotechnical Engineer - Marine Foundations to join the team.
The successful candidate will support the research and development team of the Marine Foundations business line.
Acteon Marine Foundations includes LDD and MENCK in various locations around the world. The main products and services are hydraulic hammers, large diameter drilling, grouting and cementing as well as lifting and handling solutions.
Our preferred candidate will be based in Kaltenkirchen (Hamburg).
Your tasks- Geotechnical analysis of pile-soil interactions
- Initiation and implementation of R&D projects to develop the next generation marine foundation installation technologies in line with the R&D roadmap for the business unit
- Development of automation tools for geotechnics
- Development of suitable numerical simulation models
- Cooperation with internal and external partners (scientific research institutions)
- Support in project development/sales/operation with customers
- Point of contact for geotechnics of the Marine Foundations engineering
- Internal training/support for geotechnics
- Optimization of components about mechanical and geotechnical goals
- Support with data analysis with a focus on geotechnics
- Cooperation with geotechnical engineering at MENCK
- Geotechnical engineer or mechanical engineer, (Master of Science required, preferably PhD)
- Specialist in geotechnics
- Good mechanical background
- Solid background in numerical simulation methods (FEM, BEM, optimization, ...)
- Knowledge in programming languages (Matllab, Python, ...), programming skills
- Good knowledge of pile installations, underwater acoustics, soil interpretation
- Experience with common/current simulation software (Ansys, Abacus, ...)
- Experience with GRLWeap
- Team player with experience of working within interdisciplinary teams
- Plan, organize and prioritize work;
Balance between skills, priorities, and schedule to achieve goals - Very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English (at least B2/C1 level)
