Haulotte Manufacturing North America has a full‑time, on‑site role for an Electrical Engineer at our Archbold, Ohio, location. We would prefer a candidate that has previously worked in electrical engineering in automotive systems
, farm equipment
, construction machinery
, or off‑road vehicles
. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical systems, managing power distribution projects, and overseeing electrical engineering tasks. The role will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful implementation of electrical solutions which adhere to safety and regulatory standards. Daily tasks will also include troubleshooting electrical issues, preparing project documentation, and optimizing power systems for efficiency and reliability.
- Perform testing according to standard methods or procedures, record data, and perform routine calculations.
- Read and interpret standard test methods
- Prepare material specimens for testing
- Perform tests as directed by customer specifications
- Gather and record test data
- Set up test apparatus, operate equipment, and maintain equipment and facilities
- Prepare test samples and record test data in accordance with standards
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an electrical testing‑related field
- Skills in electrical design and electrical engineering
- Proficiency in electricity and power distribution
- Experience with power systems
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
- Ability to analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed
- Basic understanding of testing concepts
- Working knowledge of electrical fundamentals, testing concepts and lab safety
- Possess above average computer skills and engineering software tools
- Experience with instrumentation troubleshooting and repair (e.g., level transmitters, temperature sensors, metering devices, and heating elements)
- Mathematical skills with general knowledge of appropriate formulas used in electrical applications; working knowledge of algebraic and geometric concepts and formulas
- Reasoning ability in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures to: define the problem or objective; identify relevant concerns or factors, patterns, tendencies, and relationships; formulate logical and objective conclusions; and recognize alternatives and their implications. Ability to interpret and analyze technical data using logic and reasoning.
- Must be able to perform effectively in environments with multiple on‑going projects and changes in priority; work independently when appropriate to complete assignments with minimal direction; and determine the best course of action to find solutions when answers are not obvious or apparent
- Have knowledge and use of various test instruments such as calibration, diagnostic and monitoring systems
- Have knowledge of the installation and maintenance of electrical supply and distribution systems (Motors, Drives, MCC, Transformers, Disconnects, wiring, lighting, etc.)
- Have knowledge of electronic process control systems, including distributed control (DCS), and programmable logic control (PLC) systems and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain these systems.
Must have flexibility to work additional hours when appropriate and may work both indoors and outdoors at elevated heights with the use of stairs/ladders/aerial lifts.
