The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for planning, executing, and validating the commissioning of mechanical systems in data centre construction projects. This role ensures that all systems are installed, tested, and operating according to design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop and manage mechanical commissioning plans and schedules
  • Oversee the commissioning of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, CRAC units, pumps, piping, and other mechanical infrastructure
  • Perform functional performance testing and system integration checks
  • Prepare commissioning documentation including test scripts, procedures, and reports
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities and system performance
  • Support the development of O&M manuals and handover documentation
  • Collaborate with design engineers, construction teams, and vendors to ensure readiness for commissioning
  • Interface with QA/QC teams to resolve issues identified during commissioning
  • Participate in client meetings and provide technical support during system turnover
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, and project specifications
  • Identify and mitigate risks during commissioning phases
Show your expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical commissioning, preferably in data centres or mission‑critical facilities
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and building automation
  • Familiarity with commissioning standards (ASHRAE, BSRIA, etc.)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or equivalent
  • OSHA or other safety certifications
  • LEED or sustainability‑related credentials (optional but beneficial)
