Responsibilities:

• Design automotive wiring harnesses and circuit structures, fusing systems, battery, and body electronics. Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, engineering calculations, and spec development. Heavy use of CAD tools for 3D and 2D mechanical design and drawings. CAD use for electrical system schematic design.
• Develop automotive wiring harnesses and circuit structures, fusing systems, battery, and body electronics. Schedule and coordinate activities for part development including test plans, part reviews, vehicle studies, fabrication, and supplier activities. Prepare reporting documentation for evaluations and team events.
• Work closely with test engineers to understand and develop specifications, interpret test results, and modify designs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with purchasing, manufacturing, project teams, suppliers, etc. to negotiate design details, issue designs per project schedule/deadlines, resolve open issues, participate in project meetings, and meet project team targets.
• Estimate and calculate part costs. Collaborate with suppliers for quotes and negotiate pricing.
• Mentor, train, and lead less experienced group members in all aspects of group functions.
