Geotechnical Engineer

Tunstall Engineering Group of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, has an immediate opening for a full-time
Geotechnical Engineer who will apply geotechnical engineering skills in practical "Construction Engineering" applications such as Temporary Support of Excavation Designs, Permanent Wall Designs, Anchor Designs, Slope Stability, Pile Designs, and CADD.

The full-time schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with some variation based on project needs.

• Collaborates with and provides geotechnical engineering support to contractors.
• Designs and develops details that will be used by contractors in the field.
• Performs geotechnical engineering calculations.
• Analyzes and designs walls, Cofferdams, deep foundations, and slopes for stability.
• Assist in structural engineering for bracing elements related to walls and cofferdams.
• Creates CAD sketches.
• Assists engineering team with preparing construction documents and working on projects and tasks.
• Travels to and observes construction sites.

To be successful in this position you do not need to have any professional engineering experience, although it is helpful.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program.
• Passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
  0-10 years of professional engineering experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) License preferred, but not required.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient or familiar with geotechnical analysis and computer modeling software such as Shoring Suite, DeepEX, Slide, LPile, MathCAD, STAAD, Micro Station, or AutoCAD.

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
