We are currently searching for a Loan Operations Manager for our Operations Center in Columbus Grove, OH!
Under the direction of the COO, the Loan Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the loan department. This includes ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as they pertain to commercial and consumer loans.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as they pertain to commercial/consumer loans.
- Handle inquiries from correspondent lenders regarding loan products and general underwriting guidelines.
- Notify correspondent departments of changes in procedure or products.
- Interact with personnel in the legal, compliance, post-closing, and accounting departments and attend compliance meetings to address compliance issues with the correspondents.
- Review reports to ensure all loan entries applicable to the department have been posted correctly.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing and closing (when applicable) of all loan applications.
- Prepare Annual Escrow Analysis – test run in March for the majority of the mortgage loans.
- Processing of Annual PMI letters.
Managing Staff:
- Manage the Loan Department and provide input on the hiring and review process.
- Assure scheduling is appropriate to meet Loan Department volumes.
- Conduct periodic operational training that covers security, regulatory compliance, and other procedural issues as necessary.
- Conduct weekly meetings of the Loan Servicing/Loan Closing group.
- Review and approve timeclock hours, PTO, etc.
- Set quarterly goals for staff members.
- Review Business Analytic reports.
Operations:
- Monitor audit requirements and compliance issues for the department.
- Keep abreast of changes in products, policies, and procedures, and attend training as needed.
- Assist corporate projects to meet the goals of the bank.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Customer Service:
- Assist internal and external customers with resolution of account problems and issues.
- Ensure the commercial/consumer loan department representatives are providing excellent customer service.
- Set goals for oneself and be a self-starter. Display the ability to meet and set workflow deadlines.
- Supervise the commercial/consumer loan department. Set and measure standards and determine how staff performs against those targets. Provide feedback and praise/discipline as warranted.
- Communicate thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Understand customer needs and the elements of customer service. Refer customers to appropriate individuals for further assistance.
- Embrace change and see it as an opportunity. Support manager’s ideas to affected staff.
- Knowledge of regulations that pertain to commercial/consumer loan activities.
- Basic computer knowledge:
Must have the ability to operate computers, Office, Excel, and other standard office equipment.
Special requirements for the position:
- Prefer a bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience in related positions in a financial institution.
- Must have the capacity to work under stress and handle difficult situations.
