PRN Speech Language Pathologist BRN and HCH
Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language-swallowing therapy.
Minimum Qualifications
: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Current or temporary speech pathologist licensure in the applicable state where services will be performed.
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Language Pathology OR must obtain within 48 months of hire.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and evaluation with an interdisciplinary team approach.
- Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, and rehabilitation interventions within an interdisciplinary team approach.
- Evaluates speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-linguistic needs and develops and implements the treatment programs for assigned patients.
- Performs evaluation of patient response to tasks performed and delegated.
- Participates in the Performance Improvement program of the Rehabilitation Services department with emphasis on speech therapy.
- May supervise assigned graduate assistants/interns, students and volunteers.

- Heavy/Hard work:
Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs. - Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

- Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids and different types of cleaning and laundry chemicals.

- Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care.
