Medical Assistant 4 Days per Week – Primary Care

Southwoods Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Primary Care office in New Middletown, Ohio. The Medical Assistant will work with their team and partners with the physician and/or other health care professionals to evaluate and provide direction to comprehensive, quality patient care. The successful candidate is trained and responsible for performing a wide range of skilled administrative and clinical duties.

• Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for patients and visitors through exceptional customer service.
• Room patients in a timely manner utilizing two patient identifiers.
• Obtain and record vital signs, major complaint, medications, and allergies in patient chart.
• Collect various specimens following proper specimen collection, storing and recording protocols.
• Prepare lab specimen in a timely manner for transport to hospital lab while maintaining positive specimen identification.
• Report and record patient critical lab values, adverse reactions, and pertinent information promptly to physician and team members.
• Able to schedule appointments, answer phones, file, maintain medical records, and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Recognize patients’ rights and responsibilities and support them in performance of job duties.
• Ensure all processes at responsible physician practice maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program and obtained a diploma; or maintains certification renewals from one of the following associations throughout the course of employment:
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification through the National Health career Association (NHA)
• Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Monday: 8:00am – 6:30pm
• Tuesday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
• Wednesday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
