Reporting to the Beverage Supervisor, the Bar Porter performs the service of replenishing stock and all required cleaning behind the bar. Keeps assigned station stocked, maintains cleanliness, and assists bartenders with guest requests and busy periods. Performs bartender functions as needed during breaks.
Essential Functions- Obtains supplies and equipment necessary for the assigned F&B outlet.
- Slices and pits fruit and supplies bartending team with appropriate garnishes.
- Supplies accurate levels of beer and liquors, glassware, soaps, chemicals, silverware, and other necessary items.
- Washes and dries all glassware as specified by safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Replaces empty beer kegs and bag‑in‑box containers.
- Keeps area clean, sanitary and free of debris.
- Provides a safe environment for employees and guests.
- Sets up bars with necessary supplies, ice and tools for forecasted business levels.
- Leaves assigned work area with appropriate stock levels for incoming shifts.
- Assists all staff whenever necessary to ensure acceptable guest service.
- Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s.
- Adheres to all department and company policies and procedures.
- Performs all related duties as assigned.
- Neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Flexibility with scheduling to include nights, holidays and weekends.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior restaurant/bar service experience preferred.
- Must be able to obtain an Ohio Lottery Commission license.
