The Ruhlin Company Talent Acquisition Specialist

We are seeking to hire a Talent Acquisition Specialist
. This position is based out of Ruhlin's corporate office in Sharon Center, Ohio (Medina County) and reports to the Human Resources Manager. This position is full time Monday through Friday and is in-office - no hybrid/remote option is available.

Overview

Summary: Research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing methods to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable salaried and hourly candidates; oversee the candidate experience from beginning to hired ensuring a positive Company image is projected; make hiring recommendations to management.

Responsibilities

Administrative

  • Actively participate in human resources and recruiting related meetings, networking events, and committees.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of candidate data.
  • Participate in the development of department goals and strategy.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the Human Resources Manager.

External Recruiting

  • Act as a liaison between hiring managers and outside recruiting agencies.
  • Correspond with candidates about interview details, next steps, and final disposition in a timely manner.
  • Register for and attend, along with other staff members, high school and college career fairs, and other recruiting events.
  • Plan and implement Company sponsored recruiting and outreach events.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with recruitment partners including community and government-based agencies, industry organizations, high schools, colleges and universities, technical schools, third-party recruiters, and unions.
  • Post all job openings externally using the Company’s ATS.
  • Source passive candidates using various social media platforms and maintain ongoing communication.
  • Identify creative and innovative ways to source and attract quality candidates.
  • Work with the marketing team on social media recruiting strategy and activity.

Internal Recruiting

  • Email internal job openings to all employees as they become available.
  • Coordinate interviews with internal candidates under hiring manager’s direction.
  • Receive and review internal employee referrals; track and ensure the finance department is informed when a referred candidate is hired to ensure timely and proper referral bonus payment.

Interviewing

  • Schedule virtual and in person candidate interviews with hiring managers and interview teams.
  • Participate in the interview process with both internal and external candidates.

Onboarding

  • Assist new employees during their onboarding process while helping them get familiar with the Company.
  • Work with the human resources team during the employment offer process, pre-employment testing, start date determination, and onboarding.

Screening

  • Review applications and resumes as they are received through the ATS and forward qualified candidates to hiring managers for review; follow up with hiring managers to determine applicant status.
  • Conduct brief screening interviews virtually to assess applicant’s skills, experience, and culture fit.

Staffing

  • Work with hiring managers to identify current and future hiring needs and understand the skills, competencies, and experience needed for openings.

Essential

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
  • Certified HR professional designation preferred (PHR and/or SHRM-CP).
  • Minimum 3 years’ recruitment experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to recruitment and hiring.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Viewpoint Vista, and other software as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional nontraditional hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Team focused mindset to build strong working relationships.
