You have a good amount of experience administering Git Lab and know how to stay calm and focused — even when working in complex system environments? Then join our team in Falkenstein/Vogtland or Nuremberg as a System Administrator (m/f/d) and take charge of operating and improving our self-hosted Git Lab infrastructure.
Your responsibilities:- Install, configure, and manage our self-hosted Git Lab instances
- Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of the Git Lab environment
- Maintain and update Git Lab, including Git Lab Runner
- Manage users, groups, and access permissions
- Handle regular backups, updates, and security patches
- Troubleshoot issues within Git Lab and CI/CD pipelines
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation
- A completed degree or vocational training in IT (e.g. IT specialist for system integration)
- Professional experience as a system administrator or in a similar role
- Good knowledge of Git Lab administration, including Git Lab Runner and Docker
- Confident at working with Linux servers and the command line
- Hands-on experience with container technologies — especially Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g. Bash, Ruby)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a structured, independent work style
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
