We are hiring an Applied AI Engineer to design, build, and scale customer-facing AI agents that transform how finance teams work. You’ll own projects from design to production and set the standard for applied AI at Moss.

• Build & Evaluate AI Agents:
  Design, implement, and rigorously test finance automation agents in production.

• Auditability & Control:
  Architect agents that provide a transparent audit trail of all reasoning steps and enable user intervention at any time.

• Data Context Injection:
  Seamlessly integrate customer data into agent workflows while maintaining trust, security, and adaptability.

• Technical Leadership:
  Shape Moss’s AI engineering practices, mentor peers, and influence product strategy.

• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with product, design, and finance domain experts to deliver customer-ready AI products.

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field from a top tier university.

• Minimum 8 years of professional engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in ML/NLP and proven hands‑on experience in LLM-based systems. Proven track record in building and shipping customer‑facing AI products or agents at scale.

• Programming Proficiency in Python (primary) and Java, with experience building scalable backend systems. Strong knowledge of LLMs, agent architectures, orchestration frameworks, and human‑in‑the‑loop system design.

• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud (preferred), including Vertex AI, or comparable platforms.

• Experience building AI systems that are auditable, transparent, and reliable.

• Large Language Models (LLMs):
  OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, Mistral, or similar

• Frameworks for LLM Applications & Agents:
  Lang Chain, Llama Index, Haystack, or comparable orchestration frameworks

• Evaluation & Monitoring:
  Weights & Biases, Tru Lens, Arize, or custom evaluation pipelines

• Prompt Engineering & Fine‑tuning: prompt design, RAG, fine‑tuning, or instruction tuning

Backend & Systems Engineering

• Programming:
  Python (primary) plus Java

• APIs & Microservices: REST/gRPC, FastAPI, Flask, Spring Boot, Node.js

• Databases:
  Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, Big Query, Snowflake plus vector databases

• Data Pipelines:
  Kafka, Airflow, dbt, or equivalents

Security & Auditability

• Logging & Observability:
  Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog

• Audit Trail Design: event‑sourcing, state tracking, reasoning‑trace logging

• Human‑in‑the‑Loop Systems: approval workflows, override mechanisms, explainability dashboards

Infrastructure & Deployment

• Cloud Platforms: GCP (preferred, incl. Vertex AI), AWS, or Azure

• Containerization & Orchestration:
  Docker, Kubernetes

• CI/CD & MLOps:
  Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, Jenkins; MLflow or similar

• Impact that matters:
