In this role, you take ownership of the analytical and technical direction of AI and data-driven projects from the very start. You analyze customer questions and available data and translate them into realistic, valuable solution designs before development begins.

You define the overall approach, select appropriate AI and Machine Learning methods, identify key risks and dependencies, and design the MVP and roadmap. While you do not build the final software yourself, you work closely with Data scientists, AI Engineers and Software Engineers to ensure your designs are scalable, feasible, and production-ready.

You work with modern AI technologies such as Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Computer Vision, and you understand how data pipelines and ETL processes support training and deployment. Through clear communication, you align customers and teams on expectations, possibilities, and limitations, providing a strong foundation for high-quality, future-proof AI solutions.

We are looking for an AI Engineer with a focus on data science who is comfortable taking responsibility at the front of complex AI projects and setting a clear direction.

You bring:

• Professional experience in Data Science and AI within complex project environments
• The ability to translate customer requests into clear, structured solution designs
• A broad understanding of AI and ML techniques, including classical ML, Generative AI, and Computer Vision
• Experience designing MVPs and project roadmaps, including assumptions, risks, and dependencies
• Ready understanding of data processing and ETL pipelines to make realistic design choices
• The ability to work closely with software engineering teams and design solutions that can be built and operated at scale
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent English and German; knowledge of Dutch is a strong plus
