Position OverviewWe are seeking qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters with an active Secret security clearance to support upcoming government contracts. This role will involve interpreting services in various settings including medical, legal, administrative, and field operations, depending on the client’s needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate and impartial ASL interpretation between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and hearing individuals.
- Interpret in-person, virtually, or via video remote interpreting platforms.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Accurately relay spoken and signed communication in real-time.
- Travel to assignment locations as needed, when onsite interpretation is required.
- Active Secret Clearance issued by the U.S. government.
- Certification from RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or BEI (Board for Evaluation of Interpreters), or nationally recognized equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in ASL interpretation, preferably in government or military settings.
- Strong knowledge of ASL and Deaf culture.
- Ability to work independently and maintain flexible availability.
