Basic Job Functions
  • This role will supervise and coordinate a team of shift supervisors in the assigned area to meet the daily warehouse activities, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure smooth operations in accordance with standards and procedures. The scope of the role includes resolving operational issues, coaching, and managing work performance of the team, coordinating material inventory and shipments to ensure no disruption to manufacturing operations or customer shipments, identifying opportunities for improvement, and minimizing warehouse expenses.
  • Education/Experience
    • Associate degree in Supply Chain/Logistics/Transportation or a Business‑related field and five or more years of supervisory, warehouse, and/or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment, OR a high school diploma/GED and eight or more years of supervisory, warehouse, and/or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Six Sigma and/or lean certification preferred.
    • Experience managing large warehouse teams across multiple shift operations.
    Required Skills/Competencies
    • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse and inventory control concepts (FIFO, Kanban, cycle counting practices, etc.).
    • Proven organizational and supervisory skills.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Excellent understanding of computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, ERP systems, etc.).
    • Proven developmental and training skills.
    • Ability to develop a strong safety culture and practice in the workplace.
    • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
    • Proven employee relations skills and knowledge of HR practices.
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
    Essential Responsibilities
    • Supervise and coordinate a team of shift supervisors to maintain inventory accuracy, receiving and shipping activities, and ensure smooth operations and safety standards.
    • Resolve operational issues to ensure the smooth conduct of receiving and shipping activities.
    • Coach and manage the work performance of warehouse associates to align with departmental expectations and goals.
    • Coordinate warehouse material inventory and shipment to prevent disruption to manufacturing operations and shipping activities.
    • Interface with stakeholders to ensure correct flow of materials/products and accurate shipping/receiving data.
    • Resolve receiving and shipping discrepancies to minimize inventory variance.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to increase department efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Collaborate closely with Human Resources to handle employee relations issues in a timely manner.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in one of the seven focus areas within Warehouse Operations, ensuring proper documentation, training, and coaching for all associate staff.
    • Manage material handling equipment, maintenance, and safety.
    • Oversee inventory and space management and optimization.
    • Ensure audit and compliance requirements are met.
    • Oversee finished goods process and optimization.
    • Manage Enterprise Transmission Equipment (ETE) process/system and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Lead project and people management efforts.
    • Handle material handling process optimization.
    • Manage execution at all internal and external warehouses supporting manufacturing sites to ensure continuous material supply.
    • Control all warehouse expenses according to the budget.
    • Ensure accurate work instructions and procurement meet SOX and ISO requirements.
    • Account for all KPI’s associated with warehouse operations and implement corrective actions for misses.
    • Drive a safety culture and practice within warehouse operations, enhancing safety on site.
    • Lead management, customer, and auditor line walks and managerial by walk‑around (MBWA).
    • Maintain and supervise warehouse cost control.
    • Conduct daily housekeeping and 5S activities.
    • Ensure on‑time preventive maintenance of all MHE, tools, and equipment.
    • Execute plant startup and equipment/technology upgrade activities involving the warehouse area.
    • Coordinate shunting or inter‑plant truck operations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
