Automotive Engineer

Overview

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assist engineering in the development of new equipment and processes, while performing general duties to keep existing production equipment operational. Continually investigate job processes to improve them and eliminate potential quality and production errors.

• Assist engineering departments in the implementation of new equipment and processes for manufacturing.
• Use technical skills to troubleshoot equipment and use those skills to efficiently correct any problems that interfere with production requirements.
• Work safely and be aware of all potential dangers that may affect you and others around you. This includes the proper use of tools, equipment, and following OSHA safety regulations (lockout tagout).
• Bring new jobs online by programming, fabrication, and re-writing (based on job specification). This may require the modification of existing equipment.
• Assist in developing systems and processes that improve safety, quality, and production.
• Assist in maintenance of personnel as required.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment as required.
• Maintain inventory of supplies necessary to maintain production.
• Attend MRB and corrective action meetings to assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
• Assist the estimating department with equipment costs and production rates.
• Provide support to maintenance associates in troubleshooting and correcting electrical problems.
• Follows all applicable IATF 16949 processes.
• Generally, perform all other duties as required.

Education / Experience /Training

At minimum a 4 year Degree in Engineering or related field

2-4 years experience with Automated Controls
