Wage: $18.50

Schedule: 8 am to 4 pm & including some weekends

FUNCTION: The Utility will perform one or more of the Utility Activities as directed by verbal or written instruction by the Maintenance Manager. The Utility may work independently or with others to correctly complete a task.

• Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
• Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
• Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
• Clean and maintain restrooms
• Wash and clean windows and mirrors
• Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
• Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment
• Dust furniture and fixtures
• Pick up debris & clutter in parking lots and grounds, shovel snow from sidewalks as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• US Citizen
• Ability to speak, hear, understand and read fluent English in order to communicate effectively
• Strong attention to detail
• Previous experience in cleaning/janitorial in industrial setting is required

• Near and far eyesight with accurate, average field of vision, color and depth perception
• Ability to stand 8+ hours/day with dexterity related to operating cleaning tools/machines
• Ability to safely move around a plant environment including frequent bending, stooping, and occasional exposure to extreme heat
• Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
• Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours as required, and maintain job performance standards
• Maintaining good personal hygiene and professional appearance

• Ensure personal compliance with safety policies and rules, including PPE requirements
• Report any issues not immediately resolvable to appropriate manager
• Complete pre-shift inspections required for equipment/area
• Make recommendations regarding procedures, processes or tools that improve safety and support a safe work environment
• Ensure proper housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment
  
  Attend all safety meetings and training as directed
• Complete monthly safety requirements i.e. safety video, toolbox talk, peer to peer reviews
