Ø Will set up, program, and operate one or more CNC milling machines to produce or modify precision parts.

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Ø Will set up, program, and operate one or more CNC milling machines to produce or modify precision parts.
Ø Must possess a working knowledge of machining principles, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and tooling speeds and feeds and applications.
Ø Is responsible for the cleaning, periodic maintenance, and light caring for equipment used on a daily basis.
Ø Must have a tool box, hand tools and basic inspection equipment management deems necessary.
Ø Potential to be cross trained in set up, programming, and operation of machining equipment in other departments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ø Dependable individual with reliable transportation.
Ø Excellent attendance record.
Ø Wear proper eye, ear, and foot protection at all times.
Ø Work overtime when required.
Ø Follow Mainstream Waterjet’s Primary Operating Procedures and Quality Management System.
Ø Load machines with material as noted on the work order using one of the following: forklift, vacuum lift, cranes, slings and/or magnets.
Ø Processing various materials in accordance with daily/weekly production schedule, including making data collection entries to update applicable routers and job status.
Ø Set up machines to cut parts within blue print or CAD file tolerances.
Ø Perform in process inspections of parts.
Ø Complete jobs in a management specified bench mark time.
Ø Maintain traceability of Heat, Lot, and Raw Material Purchase Order number throughout production.
Ø Label parts with appropriate information. (Part number, material type, heat/lot number).
Ø Deburr, clean and dry parts. Apply rust preventative when required.
Ø Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Ø Update machine maintenance ledger throughout every shift, with appropriate data.
Ø Complete routine production paperwork.
Ø Follow standard work safety practices and work in a safe manner at all times
Ø Organize necessary materials to move between projects in a timely manner.
Ø Perform general clean-up of the work area.
Ø Ability to secure and maintain a forklift operator license.
Ø Ability to lift 55 pounds.
Ø Ability to apply basic math, fractions and decimal knowledge to work assignments.
Ø Good communication skills.
Ø Active awareness of cutting conditions and area around workspace.
Ø Must be able to work well alone or with a group.
Ø Must be able to manage time effectively
Ø Knowledge of Mainstream QMS and how you contribute to it
Ø FOD Awareness Prevention
Ø Counterfeit Parts Awareness
Ø Assist with training of new personnel in department
Ø Must monitor tooling needs for current and upcoming jobs
Ø Operate with a commitment to continuous improvement
Ø Other duties as assigned by management
ENTRY
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø High school diploma or GED.
Ø Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Ø Ability to use basic inspection equipment (micrometer, dial calipers, tape measure, steel rule, etc...).
Ø Ability to obtain lift truck operator’s license.
Ø Excellent communication and team work skills.
Ø Organizational, time management and record keeping skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Five (5) years of related machining experience
Ø Previous experience in machining carbon and stainless steels, aluminum, exotics, and plastics
Ø Previous experience with Hurco brand mills
Ø Previous CAD / CAM experience, Fusion 360 in particular
Ø Previous experience with hi-feed inserts, drills, endmills, and other high-performance tooling
Ø Experience with CMM, FARO, or similar precision inspection equipment
Ø Ability to design and produce complex fixtures, soft jaws, and other work holding options
