As a Manufacturing Engineer at Hello Fresh and Factor, you will ensure that the production lines run efficiently. You will be responsible for maximizing machine runtimes, selecting modern technology, and leading innovation projects. You will work closely with suppliers, install new systems, and conduct training to ensure the highest production standards. You will also coordinate with other departments such as Logistics, Production, Quality, Health & Safety, and Maintenance & Facilities.

The position is based at Hello Fresh SE in Berlin and supports the expansion of the production facility of our subsidiary Factor in Verden (Aller) near Bremen. The workplace is therefore Verden. Please note that the position is initially limited to 24 months, with the possibility of extension.

• Leading and implementing improvement projects to increase efficiency, volume, reduce costs, improve safety, and optimize product quality (from concept to implementation).
• Analyzing and optimizing production processes using in-depth knowledge of food production equipment and production techniques.
• Creating and updating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), as well as preparing and submitting regulatory documentation and communicating project results to all relevant stakeholders (in English).
• Presenting project results and proposing technical solutions based on comprehensive benchmarking, root cause analysis, data analysis, and proven engineering principles.
• Working closely with interdisciplinary teams (Production, Logistics, Quality, Health & Safety, Maintenance & Facilities) to successfully implement project goals.

• Technically proficient in selecting and optimizing production equipment, applying standards, and analyzing performance metrics and statistical data.

• Experienced in developing and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in production.
• Skilled in working with operational data to support investment decisions and clearly demonstrate the ROI of process improvements.
• Excellent in project management, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while efficiently managing deadlines and resources.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field.
• Several years of professional experience in food production, with in-depth knowledge of FDA/USDA standards and their application in the production environment.
• Several years of experience in selecting, analyzing, and optimizing production equipment to make the right decisions for cost and efficiency improvements.
• Several years of experience in engineering and project management within a production environment, focusing on continuous improvement and process optimization.
• A Lean Six Sigma certification and experience with Kaizen are advantageous.
• Practical experience in a production technical environment, including handling and maintaining production equipment and working directly with operators.
• Fluent in German and English (C1 level) to effectively communicate both locally and internationally and to create technical documentation.
