Job Summary

As a Welder II at Logisti

Q, you will be a part of our Weld Operations team. The ideal candidate will perform basic fit-up and welding of company products from mechanical drawings using GMAW (MIG) processes. Individuals in this position can also design and build simple jigs and fixtures to enhance productivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Independently read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans to ensure welds meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Utilize Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify, organize, and prepare parts and materials efficiently for welding projects.
  • Operate hand and power tools (wrenches, grinders, drills, impact drivers) safely and effectively to prepare and finish welded components.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and levels to verify dimensions and alignment before, during, and after welding.
  • Recognize and understand standard weld symbols to perform welds according to blueprints.
  • Perform MIG welding on a wide range of components, including thick metals and structural frames, producing clean, and strong welds.
  • Assist in welding thin gauge metals to avoid warping or burn-through, critical for delicate or precision components.
  • Execute multi-pass welding techniques on thick plates and structural elements requiring high heat input, ensuring weld integrity.
  • Perform SMAW (Stick Welding) for heavy-duty repairs, outdoor jobs, or locations requiring portable equipment.
  • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and aligning parts accurately before welding to ensure strong, defect-free joints.
  • Set up and adjust welding jigs and fixtures to securely hold parts in place, ensuring precise alignment and stability throughout welding and assembly processes.
  • Weld confidently in all positions — flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead — adapting techniques to meet job requirements.
  • Conduct basic weld repairs, restoring damaged or worn parts to functional condition with minimal downtime.
  • Safely handle and move materials using cranes, forklifts, and other equipment, adhering to safety regulations and company protocols.
  • Participate in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives, performing inspections and documenting weld quality to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Provide training, support, and mentorship to Welder I and apprentice team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Keep area clean and organized while following all safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Other duties as assigned.

May require occasional local travel.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Owns required personal hand tools.
  • High degree of proficiency with GMAW (MIG) welding.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and weld symbols preferred.
  • Ability to read calibration equipment preferred.
  • Must pass math and measurement assessment.
  • Must pass regular GMAW (MIG) weld test.
