Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Electrical Expeditor, the electrician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing plant injection and stretch blow‑molding machines, auxiliary production equipment (UV printers, hot‑leaf printers, assembly machines, bagger machines, carton erectors, stretch‑wrapping units, material‑handling conveying equipment), and plant systems (chilled water, dehumidification, vacuum material delivery, etc.). Perform machinery and systems repairs using electrical blueprints.
Key Accountabilities- Operate equipment in accordance with procedure.
- Start and restart plastic injection molding machinery.
- Visually inspect machines and support equipment for worn parts or safety hazards.
- Clean and lubricate equipment as needed or directed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical machinery and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls including PLCs, 3‑phase and single‑phase circuits, relays, switches, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
- Program PLCs and HMIs using RSLogix and FTView (Allen Bradley).
- Follow work instructions and may be asked to write, revise, and train others on those instructions.
- Provide input for modifications or new designs for continuous improvement.
- Perform root‑cause analysis to determine immediate actions or when to call appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a 5S environment in the work area.
- Lift up to 40 pounds independently, or up to 80 pounds in a team‑lift scenario.
- Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies and may assist in other areas or perform other duties as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with 480, 240, 120, 24 DC, single and 3‑phase power, pneumatic and hydraulic operation.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Knowledge of OSHA and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Competence with precision tools (micrometers, multimeters, indicators, voltage testers).
- Experience with electrical components, sensors, AC/DC drives/motors, and servo drives/motors.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook.
- Good math skills.
SAP knowledge preferred but not required.
Compensation and BenefitsStarting rate $34.75–$35.75, with a shift differential of $2.00 per hour for afternoon and midnight shifts.
