Responsible for taking ownership of assigned machinery and tasked production goals. Ensures all company policies and food safety protocols are followed while partnering with both production management and QC team to identify and eliminate risks while meeting production goals.

• Able to use hand and finger/eye coordination while looking at defects and/or contamination of all product.
• Perform strenuous, physical work throughout the shift requiring use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying objects, and handling materials.
• Stand and walk; touch, handle and feel; reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to talk and hear.
• Regularly lift items ranging from 10 to 65 pounds and push rolling stock bins weighing 600 to 650 pounds.
• Specific visual inspection required, including near and far distances, depth perception and constant focus.
• Comfortable working around extreme heat, oil and water due to surrounding area, product and processes.

Required:

• Basic reading and writing ability.
• Ability to consistently perform the functions in the above Responsibilities and Physical Demands.
• Basic Math Skills.
• Learn - be able to distinguish between different kinds of nuts, seeds, etc.
• Learn - the testing and cleaning procedures.
• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred:

• Experience in food manufacturing preferred but not required.
• Understanding of the SQF (Safe Quality Food Program).

• Follows established guidelines in the operation of equipment used during processes.
• Produces product according to SQF safety and quality management guidelines.
• Performs in-process inspections to ensure the product meets requirements before sending to production.
• Follows established quality system documentation relative to area of responsibility (e.g., work instructions, procedures, forms).
• Communicates with the team throughout the shift when issues arise.
• Knowledge of all equipment and machinery in the area (oil levels, product flows and belt speeds for each product).

Must be able to read and understand the production ticket for quality of the food (e.g., allergens, salt, no salt, etc.).

2nd Shift — 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday to Thursday (10-hour shift). Some training may be required on 1st shift.
