This role focuses on new materials development, automation development, process improvement, troubleshooting, and documentation within the Process Department.
Job SummaryThe primary responsibilities of this position are new materials development (20%), automation development (40%), process improvement and troubleshooting (30%), and documentation compilation and update (10%). Requires a strong engineering background, management and communication skills.
Job Functions and Duties- Develop and test new materials including ink, silver paste, screen, cutting wheel, drill, etc.
Compile materials process requirements according to internal and customer standards.
Request potential supplier lists from purchasing, contact promising suppliers for technical details, and invite suppliers to bring material samples onsite.
Test samples in the lab, proceed to production testing if lab tests pass, and complete an experiment report after each test.
Compare US supplier materials with those used in the Chinese plant and choose the best based on performance and cost.
Compile materials documentation, provide training to the plant, and track material usage during production for continuous improvement. - such as trademark quality inspection, drilling hole inspection, transparency inspection, component assembly inspection, primer inspection, and laser marking systems.
Compile process requirements for each automation system according to internal and customer standards.
Request potential automation supplier lists from purchasing, contact suppliers for details, and evaluate projects onsite.
Compare proposals and designs, finalize requirements with the project team, and issue purchase orders.
Develop project plans, track progress, compile documentation, and provide plant training. - Organize process improvement and troubleshooting for production issues.
Lead the production process team to improve processes in line with Fuyao’s internal standards and customer standards for quality and quantity.
Facilitate process meetings to discuss technical issues and collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve problems (e.g., poor screen printing quality, electrostatic interference, raw glass corrosion). - Compile and update documents including work instructions, process requirements, process reports, and new materials standards.
Update work instructions for new production lines or products; revise instructions when processes change.
Determine requirements for materials, automation and other projects.
Complete process reports after new materials testing, automation evaluation, and new process verification.
Compile materials standards to ensure they meet internal and customer requirements.
- Language: English and Mandarin (reading, understanding, informing, speaking, and interacting with team members, engineers, leadership, and customers).
- Experience: More than one year in related production processes and technologies; production experience is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably with production experience).
- Physical Condition: Regularly required to stand for long periods, perform turns at waist, reach, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must pass static strength (grip) requirement and visual acuity tests (near, far, depth, color, field of vision). Noise level moderate. Safety equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel‑toed work boots.
- Other Requirements: Mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in various units), reasoning ability, computer skills (manufacturing software familiarity).
- Training: Green Belt level or above continuous improvement certificate; IATF
16949 training; training on five reference books. - Must be 18 years of age or older.
