Job Requirements:- Gas, welding and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred.
- The ideal candidate will understand the hazards of various gases, size, and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks and will follow all DOT, CGA, OSHA, and Cylinder Recyclers standards.
- Comply with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
- Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
- Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Clean Background Check.
- Clean Drug Test.
Specific Duties :
- Operate & safely maintain equipment for blowing down, pumping, or repackaging gases into cylinders or bulk tanks.
- Removing valves with a valve machine.
- Perform all required inspection & test before cylinders are safely scrapped.
- Regularly inspect & maintain pumping apparatus & associated pressure gages & monitoring devices.
- Responsible for loading & unloading cylinders on assigned trucks.
- Checking identification, labels, valves, styles of cylinders.
- Follow required procedures to ensure safe storage of all cylinder products.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack, & other warehouse equipment.
