CNC Machinist, Machine Operator
Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for independently setting up, operating, and optimizing 5-axis machining centers to produce custom, precision-machined components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires advanced machining knowledge, including machine setup, program editing, tooling and fixturing selection, and the ability to determine and adjust cutting speeds and feed rates to ensure product quality, dimensional accuracy, and efficient production.
The ideal candidate will be capable of troubleshooting machining issues, performing routine machine maintenance, and completing complex machining assignments with minimal supervision.
This individual must be willing to work 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday (4 days per week), for at least 5 years. In addition, all 2nd shift positions receive a $4.00 shift premium.
- Develop and execute machining processes, determining the most effective machining sequences, fixturing methods, tooling selections, and work holding strategies to maximize efficiency and maintain part quality.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to determine machining requirements, tolerances, and appropriate manufacturing methods.
- Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices based on material requirements, part geometry, and machining operations.
- Independently troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes of dimensional inaccuracies or equipment performance problems, and implement effective corrective actions.
