The State Office of Volunteerism in Delaware VISTA team will grow capacity to fight poverty in the state by helping selected nonprofits (Food Bank of Delaware, SPUR Impact, Joe Johnson School, Boys & Girls Clubs Delaware, Combined Campaign for Justice, LYTE, DTER, and others) discover new funding and support opportunities tailored to each site.
Member Duties- Identify organizations that fight poverty and need assistance with support.
- Build capacity by helping them find appropriate funding and strengthening boards.
- Create volunteer teams to assist with fundraising and public awareness campaigns.
- Assist in identifying, building, and modifying training modules to support volunteers.
- Serve on the report team to complete a meaningful examination of poverty in Delaware and how to bridge the gap.
- Participate in the State Service Plan for the State Office of Volunteerism.
