Assess & evaluate nursing & medical needs by delivering healthcare services to clients on Living Areas as ordered by physicians. Responsibilities include observing clients for signs of illness or injury, examining clients, checking vital signs, scheduling physical examinations, labs, x-rays, and diagnostic studies (e.g., CAT Scan, Colonoscopy). Confer with & assist physicians on health & behavior problems, administer medications, assist with immunization programs, perform advanced nursing procedures, and refer clients to specialists.
Assist in emergency rooms & clinics as needed.
Mandatory Overtime is required for this position.
Assist other staff by directing the delivery of psychiatric & nursing care, monitor LPNs in medication administration, contribute to establishing nursing policies & procedures, and support the Director of Nursing in administrative matters. Help infection control nurses with in-services, infection control issues, and safety surveillance. Complete & maintain notes, reports & forms, prepare nursing assessments, and order medications and supplies.
Participate in education programs & team meetings, provide ongoing education & in-service training for staff, counsel LPNs, schedule medical programs, and attend staff & educational meetings.
Require a current license as a registered professional nurse in Ohio, issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing, per Section 4723.03 of the Revised Code.
