Position SummaryThe State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) provides direct care to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This includes assisting with daily living activities, ensuring resident safety and comfort, and creating better quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provides supportive services to nurses and other staff as needed and performs duties as assigned.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living in accordance with care plans and established policies.
- Assists with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
- Coordinates dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including set‑up, clean‑up, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
- Delivers nutritional supplements to residents at assigned times and provides assistance as necessary. Documents intake accordingly.
- Assists with weighing residents according to facility policy and records weight. Reports weight changes to nurse and supervisor.
- Tracks the condition of residents’ skin and reports any pressure areas, skin breakdown or tears to nurse and supervisor.
- Assists nursing staff in carrying out toileting program activities.
- Completes flow sheets daily to indicate tasks performed and documents progress of each resident as directed.
- Keeps nurse and supervisor informed of factors that interfere with performance of assigned work.
- Reports changes in a resident’s condition to the resident’s nurse and supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
