Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Quality Manager at our Niles, OH location. This position is a key member of the location's lead team and is highly visible position in the plant and Titanium Mill Products Segment.

• Developing and implementing the Quality Management Operating System to measure the performance of the business and drive continuous improvement through corrective and preventive action processes. This includes coaching Quality, Process Engineering, and Metallurgical Personnel in plant-wide Quality and Engineering metrics (root cause, corrective action, and problem-solving best practices) to improve the effectiveness and suitability of our quality management systems.
• Developing and implementing processes, procedures, and audits related to the overall quality system, such as driving the implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles in the plants, establishing a single quality system, and overseeing the supplier quality management system. This includes the approved supplier quality list, approved special processes list, and field quality management.
• Creating, developing, and reporting standardized business wide quality metrics. This includes taking all metrics based on scrap, rework, thermal deviations, concessions, and customer returns and reporting those out to both our Niles location and Business Unit, via daily management meetings and weekly reports.
• Planning, coordinating, and executing all strategic quality planning for new products, change management, and product and process development programs. This includes overseeing the process development of new products as ordered by our customers and putting all the controls in place to ensure quality products.
• Assessing the performance of current quality technical staff and leading efforts in training as needed. This includes participating in the implementation and training of Quality personnel if/when mistakes are made to determine what areas need to be strengthened and how they should be trained (webinars, outside classes, etc.).
• Communicating all customer's expectations throughout the organization and eliciting drive from the entire team of Quality, Process Engineering, and Metallurgical Personnel on meeting these expectations. This includes interfacing with Quality and Engineering personnel to analyze and prioritize current and future customer quality requirements to systemically improve our quality systems allowing us to exceed customer expectations.
• Presenting product quality to potential customers; handling/troubleshooting customer complaint activity involving product quality, product liability matters and quality systems; coordinating activity required in customer and third-party audits; and managing all facets of product recall efforts and customer returns.
• Guiding Process Engineering efforts to reduce scrap and rework through process control, utilizing problem solving, statistical analysis, and overall variation reduction initiatives. This also includes providing technical support with respect to Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and measure process performance and ensure compliance of quality requirements in relation to customer and company specifications.
• Providing leadership and direction to Metallurgical Personnel on implementing systems and control procedures to assure the quality of our product/processes and on implementing effective corrective actions and technical problem solving to ensure all non-conforming parts and equipment meet customer requirements and industry specifications.
• Directing implementation and oversight of manufacturing and quality systems in compliance with the Aerospace Quality Standards prescribed in AS9100/ISO
  9002 and NADCAP Accreditation for Special Processes to assure compliance with all customers, corporate, and management system requirements.
• Supervising personnel responsible for systems control and development to establish and improve plant standard procedures, practices, and product quality targets.
