Job SummaryThe Quality and Regulatory Inspector ensures that products and processes meet the required quality and regulatory standards. This role involves performing inspections, conducting tests, and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and company quality guidelines.
Main Responsibilities- Inspection & Testing:
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality.
- Conduct incoming inspection on raw materials to ensure compliance with specifications and Velocity standards.
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional testing using precision measuring equipment.
- Identify defects and non-conformances, and report findings to area supervisors and Quality Manager.
- Data Collection & Analysis:
- Record inspection results, test data, and relevant observations.
- Prepare quality reports and maintain accurate records of inspection results.
- Process Monitoring:
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Assist in the development of quality control procedures and inspection plans.
- Performs hourly checks of production quality.
- Assists with operator training and corrections.
- Problem Solving & Improvement:
- Assist in root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work with production teams to implement quality improvements.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all company safety regulations and quality standards.
- Participate in quality training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485) and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or a related field.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office apps (Word, Excel).
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and technical drawings.
- Certification as a Quality Technician (e.g., ASQ) or Six Sigma belt is a plus.

- Primarily works in a production environment with long periods of standing/walking and exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels and occasional chemical odor.
- Occasional computer use in an office environment.
- Must be able to access and navigate all facility areas, including manufacturing and warehouse spaces.
- May need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when in factory areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
- Travel to other Velocity sites may be required.
