Mortgage Field Services Inspector – FAR INSPECTIONS
We are seeking highly motivated independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders, based in Reno, NV. No prior experience with mortgage field inspections required; effective time management and meeting deadlines are essential.
What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on general condition using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only, about 10% require interior photos after a property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities- Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
- Submit inspection reports within 4 days of assignment.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in an app.
- Drive extended periods, making numerous stops during the day within the assigned territory.
- Computer with internet connection.
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage preferred; owner pays gas).
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Printer.
- Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license.
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection is paid a flat rate, varying by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and urban vs. rural, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower-volume counties have higher rates; higher-volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum; work is consistent month-to-month and earnings increase with experience and availability.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
