Position: Postdoc (m/f/d) | Phage-Microbiota Interactions, Max-Planck-Institute, Germany, Europe
Location: Germany

  • Conduct research on phage-microbiota interactions in Drosophila
  • meta genome-based characterization of bacteriophage communities in Drosophila
  • isolation and culture-dependent characterization of phages
  • analysis of microbiome community changes after phage treatments
  • PhD in biology or related relevant fields
  • strong computational and experimental lab skills in meta genome-based characterization of bacteriophage communities
  • proven experience in isolation and characterization of phages
  • published track record
  • high degree of independence, excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience with insects, especially with natural fruit fly populations is a plus
