Position: Funding & Research Partnerships Manager (Quantum Tech) (m/f/d)
Location: Germany

NVision is a quantum biotech startup based in Ulm, Germany, backed by Tier 1 investors from Silicon Valley and Europe. While pioneering MRI-based imaging with hyperpolarization technology, we have also been advancing cutting‑edge quantum computing through our PIQC (Photo‑Induced Quantum Computing) division since the company’s early days.

PIQC is a dedicated business unit within NVision, with its own funding and a bold mission: to develop the first scalable quantum computer based on photoactive organic molecules. Unlike traditional solid‑state quantum approaches, PIQC leverages molecular crystals to gain unprecedented control over fundamental quantum properties. This enables us to tailor molecular qubits for scalability - an innovative approach that positions us at the forefront of exploring organic molecules for quantum computing.

As we push the boundaries of quantum science, our team, combining expertise in physics, chemistry, and engineering, is at the leading edge of this transformative field.

Job Description

We are looking for a Funding & Research Partnerships Manager (m/f/d) to join our Research Partnerships team, supporting our PIQC activities through the preparation of competitive funding applications. In this role, you will work closely with quantum computing and physics experts to translate advanced research topics into clear, structured narratives. Beyond scientific writing, the role involves coordinating inputs across research, legal, and commercial teams and shaping proposal sections that address impact, feasibility, and implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and prioritize relevant national and international funding opportunities aligned with NVision’s quantum research activities.
  • Lead the preparation, writing, and submission of competitive grant applications, combining scientific content with impact-focused narratives in line with funding requirements.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary researchers to translate advanced theoretical and experimental concepts into clear, structured proposals.
  • Develop proposal narratives beyond core research descriptions, including objectives, work plans, implementation concepts, as well as, impact framing.
  • Coordinate inputs, timelines, and formal requirements across external collaborators, funding bodies, and internal stakeholders, including legal, commercial, and management teams.
  • Support post‑grant implementation and reporting, including coordination of stakeholder inputs and tracking of grant milestones and deliverables.
Requirements
  • PhD in Quantum Computing, Quantum Physics, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of quantum technologies and advanced physics concepts.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently drive a full grant submission cycle from sourcing to successful grant implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in scientific writing, including grant proposals and/or peer‑reviewed publications.
  • Ability to critically assess and clearly communicate complex scientific content.
  • Experience working with researchers in collaborative, research‑driven environments.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English; proficiency in German is strongly preferred.
Our Offer
  • Competitive compensation, based on base salary and stock options
  • Flexible working model and working hours
  • Key role in a highly advanced and fast‑growing startup company
  • Ample opportunity for personal initiatives, openness to new ideas and room for considerable personal impact
  • Enjoyable work atmosphere with an open‑door and open communication mentality
  • International team from over 30 different nationalities
