Job SummaryPosition:
Avtron Encoders Nidec business – maintain and improve existing customer relationships, grow sales, and prospect for new business in the assigned territory.
Midwest (WI, IL, IN, MI). Other regional areas can be considered based on candidate s locale and experience.
Essential Job Functions- Meet or exceed sales targets.
- Present numbers, plans and actions on a weekly basis.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline with full understanding of upcoming projects in the territory.
- Work within Salesforce CRM to log trip reports, update account information, manage quotes, etc.
- Manage time effectively through planning and sales calls.
- On-site visits, prospecting and development: distributors, OEMs, integrators & end users.
- Channel management: leverage distributors and independent sales representatives effectively.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities.
- Ensure customer retention: maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and deep trust relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to execute marketing programs and new product developments (NPD) to sustain growth in the region and lead follow-up.
- Excellent communication skills: interact with Marketing, Sales, R&D, Customer Service & Quality.
- Moderate to strong technical skills; effectively communicate electrical and mechanical details to customers and internal engineering as required.
- Stay informed about market trends, gather customer feedback and translate information into successful sales strategies and actions.
- Achieve assigned sales quota for the territory (measured monthly, quarterly and yearly).
- Develop new customers primarily by defeating existing competitors at OEMs, integrators, distribution, and end users.
- Increase share/wallet spend from existing customers.
- Increase brand awareness through prospecting, product promotion, tradeshow visits and customer event support.
Depending on experience:
- High experience: 3-6 months.
- Low experience: 6-12 months.
- Home-based, travel 50%.
- Desirable but not critical to be located within the territory.
- Modest physical requirements including lifting/carrying equipment < 30 lbs, climbing stairs and ladders at customer sites.
- Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred; other degrees considered.
- Current, valid, unrestricted driver s license.

Requires extensive knowledge of the specialty area and industry practices; bachelor s degree or equivalent experience with minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
