Road Mechanic / Technicians

Sunbelt Rentals seeks an energetic Road Mechanic who performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet that includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas components.

• Work on a variety of makes, models & equipment in challenging remote locations.
• Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management.

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas equipment).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• 21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations.

• Proficiency in hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Proficiency in electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Might need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.

Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to comply with applicable laws.

$23.58 – $32.41 per hour (starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training and experience).
