Position SummaryAs a Carpenter at Janotta & Herner, you will be an essential member of our construction team, contributing to the successful completion of various projects. Your primary responsibility will be to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials. The role requires precision, skill, and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
Essential Functions- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Use of powered and powder actuated tools.
- Operating vehicles and equipment.
- Working at heights.
A significant portion of your work will take place outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and sunlight. General start and stop times vary depending on the project, but normally range from 7:00am-3:30pm. Occasional overtime is to be expected.

- Physical Working Conditions to include:
- Frequent climbing: Must be able to safely ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, and equipment platforms.
- Heavy lifting: Regular lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of materials and tools weighing up to or exceeding 75 pounds.
- Extended physical activity: Tasks may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and coordination: Operating construction equipment and hand tools requires steady hands, good vision, and precise movements.
- Noise and vibration exposure: Work often occurs near heavy machinery and power tools, requiring appropriate hearing protection.
