Outside Plant Foreman - Travel

Job Summary

This role oversees the delivery and execution of all Outside Plant (OSP) tasks on new construction data center projects. The position requires comprehensive experience with fiber optic cable installation and splicing, leadership of multiple crews, and the ability to forecast labor and Client needs. The Foreman ensures work quality meets customer standards, supports both new deployments and live-site requests, and maintains strong coordination with field technicians, project stakeholders, and other trade partners.

This position requires extensive travel to project locations.

• Lead multiple OSP crews and manage labor, productivity, and scheduled milestones.
• Coordinate daily with the OSP Superintendent and follow established schedules, directives, and requests.
• Capture project updates from team leads and submit weekly progress reports.
• Oversee site safety conditions and ensure all safety standards and certifications are followed.
• Ensure accurate daily timekeeping entries for assigned technicians.
• Validate project materials, data, quality, efficiency, and overall delivery.
• Coordinate with OSP Field Technicians and other trades to support execution of work.
• Oversee adherence to customer rules, guidelines, and quality standards.
• Assess team member strengths and recommend appropriate training opportunities.
• Attend customer design and build review meetings when requested.
• Support both new deployments and live-site/production tasks.
• Assist teams in adopting new technologies, tools, and software as required.
• Interpret and work from drawings and blueprints.
• Document lessons learned and maintain applicable project paperwork.

• Five or more years of experience in OSP infrastructure installation preferred.
• Comprehensive experience with fiber cable types, fusion splicing, Maxcell, Innerduct, Microduct, Microcable, and related equipment.
• Ability to lead multiple crews and manage midsize to large projects.
• Strong prioritization, time management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to forecast Client and labor units effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of OSP builds and both copper and fiber installation, termination, certification, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of regional installation standards and codes.
• Ability to document team performance, strengths, and areas of growth.
• Clear understanding of job safety requirements and safety points of contact.

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Dexterity to operate tools, equipment, computers, and related devices.
• Ability to pull cable and work on ladders or raised platforms.
• Effective verbal, written, visual, and listening communication skills.

• Frequent and extended travel required based on project location and schedule.
• Must be able to work in varying outdoor and construction site environments.
