Position: AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC) with Security Clearance
Location: Wright-Patterson AFB

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) involved in the installing, troubleshooting, interrogating, programing/reprograming, adjusting, testing, modifying, calibrating, and repairing of complex integrated aircraft electrical and environmental systems and equipment on board conventional/nuclear certified aircraft supported by the organization and to provide training to and evaluation of all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military as required in the accomplishment of duties set forth herein.

DUTIES: DUTY 1:
Performs troubleshooting of complex integrated electrical/environmental systems of related on/off equipment for assigned and/or transient aircraft to include support equipment. Researches aircraft modification history, technical orders, engineering change proposals, and manuals concerning wire codes, wiring configuration, and testing procedures. Analyzes fault indications obtained during testing, determines the type and location of malfunction, and performs necessary repairs. DUTY 2:
Installs, inspects, modifies, repairs, services, replaces, adjusts and overhauls complex integrated electrical/ environmental systems, both on and off equipment, to include, but not limited to: oxygen, fire suppression, air conditioning, pressurization, ice/rain protection, bleed air systems, avionics cooling systems, cargo/mission handling, missile interface units/bomb doors, anti-skid systems, landing gear, ignition, stall warning, flight control, AC/DC power supply and distribution, Integrated Drive Generator, fuel and explosive systems.

DUTY 3:
Performs final functional and operational tests of complex integrated electrical/ environmental systems, both on and off equipment. Performs functional, operational and calibration checks, analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Coordinates/conducts bench check of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and shop replaceable units (SRUs).

DUTY 4:
Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training for all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military. Complies with required instruction, guidance and/or training and provides instruction, guidance and training to others while maintaining personal qualifications. Attends and successfully completes OJT and/or classroom training to be certified on assigned tasks as required. DUTY 5:
Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work area. Documents/recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting malfunctions, initiating product quality deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assists in design changes as necessary. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2800 Electrical Installation and Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
