Journeyworker Lineworker

The Journey worker Lineworker is responsible for performing skilled electrical linework associated with the construction, operation, maintenance, and restoration of Carroll Electric Cooperative’selectric distribution system. The position requires a qualified first-class journeyman lineman capable of safely performing overhead and underground linework, working on energized and de-energized facilities,operating line equipment, responding to outages and emergencies, and supporting the development of apprentice lineworker

• Possess and continue to develop these skills and areas of knowledge required, includingRUS specifications, National Electric Safety Code, and Cooperative specifications.
• Operate equipment and have the knowledge and ability to frame and erect poles, install conductor and transformers, voltage regulators and associated items to meet the overall objectives.
• Perform work on energized and de-energized distribution lines.
• Provide supervision and leadership in the development of apprentice lineman.
• Operate vehicles, tools and equipment in a safe manner and observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Takes assigned on-call duty on a rotating basis, providing after-hour work.
• Maintains all safety and DOT required certifications, including CDL, CPR, and OSHA required training.
• Understands and enforces Cooperative policies and procedures, work rules, and ensures compliance.
• May be asked to perform the duties of crew leader when scheduled crew leader is absent.
• Attend schools and training sessions as required.
• Perform other emergency or operational duties as requested and assigned.

• Must possess a high school degree or equivalent.
• Possess a strong commitment to safety and the ability to perform all assigned work in asafe and responsible manner. Ability to perform energized and de-energized linework.
• Knowledge of electric distribution construction, operations, maintenance, and restoration.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License meeting Cooperative requirements. Ability to safely operate trucks, line equipment, tools, and specialized equipment associated with the position.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of linework and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to participate in on-call duty, outage restoration, storm response, and extended workhours as necessary.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Ability to provide instruction and guidance to apprentice linemen.
• Maintain professionalism and a positive Cooperative image.

The awarded candidate will be required to live within 30-minute response of the facilitywithin the first 6 months of employment and is required to be available 24 hours a day, 7days a week, for scheduled or unscheduled assignments.
